Returns and Refunds Policy
At CADTECH.co.za, we want you to be completely satisfied with your IT and technology purchases. Because we operate as an online reseller, our returns process is strictly aligned with our distribution networks, the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA), and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act).
1. Electronic Software Deliveries (ESD)
- Strict No-Return Policy: Due to the nature of digital goods, all Electronic Software Deliveries (ESD), digital licenses, software product keys, or downloadable products cannot be returned, cancelled, or refunded once they have been issued or emailed to you.
- Once a digital key is generated and linked to an order, it is deemed consumed under South African law. Please ensure your system requirements and compatibility are correct before finalizing your software purchases.
2. Unwanted Products (Change of Mind)
In terms of Section 44 of the ECT Act, you are entitled to a "cooling-off" period for standard physical goods purchased online. If you change your mind about a physical product, the following terms apply:
- 7-Day Window: You must notify us and initiate the return within 7 calendar days of the product being delivered to you.
- Condition of Product: The product must be completely unused, undamaged, and in its original, unopened packaging with all factory seals, manuals, and accessories intact. We cannot accept returns for items where the box has been opened or the security seals are broken.
- Return Shipping Costs: Unwanted items must be shipped back to us strictly at the customer’s expense. You are responsible for arranging the courier and ensuring the package is adequately insured during transit, as the risk remains with you until it reaches our facility.
- Restocking Fee: Please note that a reasonable restocking or handling fee may be deducted from your refund if the supplier charges CADTECH a returns fee.
3. Faulty Products & Warranties
Because CADTECH.co.za is an online reseller, we do not directly manufacture the goods sold on our website.
- Manufacturer Warranties: All hardware and physical products carry the official, explicit warranties provided directly by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) (e.g., Dell, HP, ASUS, Lenovo, etc.).
- Warranty Claims: If a product becomes faulty within its warranty period, the warranty claim will be handled according to the manufacturer’s specific terms, conditions, and turnaround times. Depending on the brand, the item may need to be assessed at an authorized manufacturer repair depot.
- Defective on Arrival (DOA): If a physical product is broken or faulty upon immediate unboxing, please report it to us within 24 to 48 hours of delivery so we can expedite a replacement or repair through the manufacturer's DOA process.
4. Products That Cannot Be Returned
Aside from Electronic Software Deliveries (ESD), we cannot accept returns on:
- Items that have been custom-built, configured, or personalized to your specific specifications.
- Physical software boxes where the plastic wrap or holographic security seal has been broken.
- Consumables (e.g., printer ink, toner cartridges) that have been opened or unpacked.
How to Log a Return
To initiate a return or log a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
- Send an email to admin@cadtech.co.za.
- Include your original CADTECH Order Number or Invoice.
- Provide a brief explanation of why you wish to return the product (or details/photos of the fault if logging a warranty issue).
- Our team will review your request and provide you with the correct return delivery address and reference instructions. Please do not ship items back to us without prior written authorization.
